The Tulip Bowl draws on Michelle's Chinese heritage - her fondest memories were sitting around the dinner table, sharing a meal with her parents. Central to every Hong Kong family is the small blue and white bowls, as the chosen vessel for soup, rice and desserts. 
 
The shape of the Tulip Bowl is based off the classic Chinese blue and white bowls, with an added flair:
A curved lip balances out the wider base of the bowl, and also serves as a natural point against which one's index finger rests.
